Jimmy Ross Stark, 92, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022 at his residence. Visitation is 5-7 Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 10 am Friday October 28 at the funeral home with a 3:30 pm graveside at Nance Graveyard in Ripley, Ms.
Jimmy was born to Ross and Nora Edith Stark on April 24, 1930 who preceded him in death. He graduated from Ripley High School in 1948, joined the U. S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Jimmy was a man of faith and integrity. He loved the Lord first, his family second and himself last. He was an active member of Park Place Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years and enjoyed greeting people each and every time the doors were open. We will remember him as a hard working, committed, respectful and honorable man who loved his family and church.
His daughter, Diane had these comments about her dad, “My Daddy was a man of faith and integrity. His first love was for the Lord, his family second and himself last. A lifetime of things to remember about my Daddy, but some things just stand out. He always served God and others. He knew how to have fun. He always gave me lots of affection. He loved me and loved my children. He was the best grandfather ever. He spent time with me. He was extremely kind and helpful. He was in love with my mother. He loved me unconditionally. My Daddy’s life was focused on serving the Lord through serving others. He always told me: Oh Diane, what a wonderful life I have had. My Daddy was a difference maker in his family, his church, and his community.
Though very painful, the scripture says that those who died in the Lord will rest from their earthly toils and labors and their deeds will follow them. (Revelation 14:13)
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)
My Daddy followed these Scriptures. I could not have been more blessed. I am forever my Daddy’s daughter. “
