Jo Ann Armstrong Shows, was born May 2, 1947 to Roy and Birtie Armstrong in Shaw, MS. She passed away at home on December 7, 2013. Visitation will be 5-8pm Monday, December 9, 2013, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 2pm Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.

Jo Ann was raised in Shaw, MS “The Delta was her home and true love”.

Jo Ann moved to Pearl in 1966 and met her husband Robert Shows. They settled in Brandon in November of 1970, which became her home. She attended cosmetology School and worked on and off doing hair. She substitute taught at Brandon School. She coached recreational soccer and softball. Her true calling was helping to raise her grandchildren. She loved the Tennessee Lady Vols.

Jo Ann was diagnosed with COPD in 2008 and she continued to push herself and remain active doing what she loved best, talking on the phone, eating out, shopping and spending time with family and friends.

She became ill on November 24, 2013, and was admitted to Mississippi Baptist Medical Center until Tuesday December 3, 2013. She requested to go home so that she could be surrounded by her family and friends.

Survivors include, son, Brent Shows(Brandi); daughter, Kim Bowman(James); brothers, Glenn and Lavell Armstrong; grandchildren, Cody Baker, Dylan Shows, Morgan-Mackenzie Bradford(Trevor), Payton Baker, Bristol Bowman; very special nephews, “Lil” Glenn Armstrong, Oathen Everett, and David Armstrong; and a very special sister-in-law, Gina Armstrong. She is preceded in death by her spouse, Robert Shows; father, Roy Armstrong; mother, Birtie Armstrong, sister, Linda Everett and grandson, Hondo Shows.
