JoAn Wengert Carlton, “JoJo” as she was known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital Belhaven in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 4 until 5 pm at Flowood Baptist Church, Flowood, MS. Memorial Services will be held at 5 pm at Flowood Baptist Church, 1649 Old Fannin Road, Flowood, MS.
JoAn was born on September 4, 1931 in Kansas City, MO to the late Charles Stanley and Daisy Mary Wolfolk Wengert. She was a homemaker/child care worker for several years. She had been a resident of the Brandon area since 2005 when she moved from Biloxi, MS after hurricane Katrina. She was a member of Flowood Baptist Church and was a former member of Big Ridge Baptist Church in Biloxi, MS.
She loved to paint and would share her paintings with family and friends. She loved God, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to witness of her love of God and to share this love with others.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, L.B. Carlton.
She is survived by three daughters, Debbie Jean Sharp of Grand Chain, IL, Vicki Lynn Erickson of Brandon, MS, and Terresa Mae Schlicht of Biloxi, MS; one brother, Charles Stanley Wengert, Jr. of Montezuma, IW; eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren (and one on the way).
