Joan Shepherd

Joan Vance Shepherd, age 93, formerly of Forest, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the J.G. Alexander Care Center in Union, following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held at 11am on Friday, December 9, 2022, from the Harperville Baptist Church with interment in the Harperville Cemetery.  Rev. Gary Wyatt officiated.  Visitation was held at 10am.

Mrs. Shepherd was born on January 1, 1929, in Union, MS to her parents, Carl Henry Vance and Levada Jennings Vance.  Later, after marrying her husband Pete, she became a homemaker.  She was a very active member of Harperville Baptist Church, serving in many areas of ministry.  She loved helping people and spending time with family and friends.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Pete.

Survivors include her daughter Pat (David) of Aliso Viego, CA 2 grandchildren Dana Deann Marron,  Daryl Donovan Dartez; and 3 great-grandchildren, Ella Dartez, Cady Dartez, and May Marron.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Rawson, Donnie McDaniel, David Benton, and Randy Cahoon.
