Jo Ann Robertson was born in Durant, Mississippi on September 13, 1938, the second child of Joseph Clarence Robertson and Lois Greer Robertson. In the early days of their 57 years of marriage, they were students at Mississippi State University, where she majored in business education.

After college, they lived in Durant, where she was secretary to the principal of the Durant Separate School District. In August of 1976 the couple moved their family to Forest. Jo Ann continued her working career by serving as secretary of the superintendent of the Forest Municipal School District and later office manager of the school district. Jo Ann loved her career because she could use her business skills and still be very involved with her children’s activities at school, and also because she had a passion for helping students.

Mrs. Killebrew was committed to serving Jesus Christ. She taught Sunday School, served as church secretary and church clerk, and worked in many church activities. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Durant and Forest Baptist Church.
