Joe G. “Rick” Goodman, 66, went to sing in his Lord’s heavenly choir on Sun. Jan. 30, 2011 at the River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS. Visitation will be held Mon. Jan. 31, 2011 from 5pm.-8pm. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS. Funeral Services are 1pm. Tues. Feb. 1, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS with interment following in the Lodebar Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS. Rev. James Twiner, Rev. Larry Patrick and Rev. Buddy Bayliss will officiate the services.
Rick was born in Jackson, MS and has lived in Pearl, MS for 25 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Richland, MS, and was also a mason and a shriner. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, and singing in the choir at his church, but most of all he loved playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rick was a very loving family man and a wonderful friend to all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Goodman of Pearl; two sons, Curt Goodman and wife Denet of Pearl and Paul H. Goodman of Pearl; three grandchildren, Raven Goodman Young, Morgan Goodman, and Garrett Goodman; two great-grandchildren, Colton Young and Olivia Young; one brother, Don Goodman and wife Sue of Byram; a niece, Julie Vickers of Mendenhall and a nephew, Donny Goodman of Mendenhall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Richland, MS.
