Joe Clinton Grafton Sr. passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Crossgates River Oaks Hospital in Brandon, MS surrounded by family. He was the ultimate family man and loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play any type of sports. He was born September 13, 1933 in Laurel, MS. He graduated Calhoun High School in 1951.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John T. Grafton, Sr. and Aline Balch Grafton; 6 siblings, John T. Grafton, Jr., T. Webber Grafton, Daniel Frank Grafton, Lauren Grafton, Erin Grafton, and Jack Grafton.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Janette Odom Grafton, and 2 children, Clinton Grafton and Ellen Grafton Little. Clinton has 3 children, Samuel Clayton, married to Rachel with 2 children, Alisa, and Peyton. Christopher Alan, married to Nicole with one child, Benton, and Victoria Grafton Ferguson, married to Cody Ferguson with one child, Gunner. Ellen is married to Don Little with three children, Matthew, Kristen and Emileigh. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The service will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 10am with Rev. Chester Masterson officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, February 23, 2015 from 5:30pm-7:30pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. There will be a 2pm graveside service on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 following the funeral services at the Indian Springs Church Cemetery in Laurel, MS. Pallbearers are Clay Grafton, Christopher Grafton, Matthew Little, Woodie Odom, Ryan Odom, and Jacob Odom.
