Joseph Harmon, age 80, a resident of Lake, died Tuesday, January 24, 2017 following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Thursday, January 26, 2017 from the First Pentecostal Church of Forest with interment to follow in the Salem Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Ed Burgess and Rev. Bill Pitman will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6pm -9pm Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Mr. Harmon was born on Tuesday, December 1, 1936 to his parents Albert Owen Harmon and Helen Crout Harmon in Scott County.
He owned and operated Harmon Trucking Company of over 53 years. Several years ago he was a member of Mississippi Road Builders Association. He attended the Forest Pentecostal Church.
Mr. Harmon was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene McGee Harmon in 2008.
Survivors include three sons; Randy Harmon and wife Janet, Shannon Harmon and wife Stacy and Gerry Harmon all of Lake. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Jennifer Shepherd, Justin Harmon, Jeremy Harmon and Brandon Harmon. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren; Bryce Harmon and Jax Harmon.
Pallbearers are Dave Bradley, Mike Harmon, Mike Harris, Kevin Richardson, Joseph Gay and Willie Hunt.
