Joe L. Mayfield, 66, a resident of Brandon died Saturday, August 1, 2015 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson MS. Funeral services will be held 10 am Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with burial in the Lakeland Place Garden Park Cemetery in Flowood, MS. Visitation will be held from 5 pm until 8 pm Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the funeral home. Rev. Floyd Steverson will be officiating the services. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.

Mr. Mayfield was a native of Jackson, MS. He was born on November 21, 1948 to J.L. Mayfield and Doris Dollar Mayfield. He is married to Nita Jordan Mayfield. He was the owner of Mayfield and Associates. Mr. Mayfield served his country in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #600 in Jackson, MS. He loved fishing and being in the outdoors. Though he had one adopted son he was a father to many. He loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Mayfield was preceded in death by his parents, J.L. Mayfield and Doris Dollar Mayfield.

Mr. Mayfield is survived by his wife, Nita Mayfield; son, Micah and his wife Jo Lynn Mayfield; brother, Jolly and his wife Donna; one adopted grandchild, Colby Kemp; sisters-in-law, Peggy Hilton, Mammie and her husband Donald Evans, Jane and her husband Michael McLlmurray and Gina and her husband Jeffery Hopper; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Skip McCraken, Chad Mayfield, Blake Mayfield, Chris Hilton, Monty Hilton, Chris Goosby, Chris Black and Joe Pecanty.
