JOE HOWARD MINTON

LUDLOW, MS

Mr. Joe Howard Minton, age 75, a resident of Ludlow passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation was held Monday, August 15, 2011 from 5-9pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and Tuesday from 12(noon)-2pm at Ott & Lee. Funeral services were held 2pm Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in the Allen Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Tagert and Rev. Johnny Williams will officiate the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Minton was born in Sunflower County in 1935. He loved to be in the serenity of outdoors camping. He was a member of the Metro Rambling Good Sams Camping Club, Eldorado Camping Club and Coachman Coral Camping Club #329. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Joseph Minton and Edna Ford Alday Minton and wife, Mary Frances Minton.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Lee Minton; 4 children, Mary Jo Brown (Gerald), Steve Minton (Debbie), David Minton (Brenda) and Stacey Stuart (Lee); 3 step children, Buddy Faircloth, Craig Faircloth and Beverly Jernigan; 3 sisters, Polly Brown, Waudine Herrington and Linda Perry; 2 brothers, Billy Minton and Lehamond Minton; 8 grandchildren, Christina Brown, Jason Brown, Teri Porter, Jessica Rhinewalt, Alex Minton, Nicholas Minton, Erica Stuart and Marilee Stuart; 7 great grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Willie Webb, Glenn Prestage, Jack Barnes, Howard Brown, Roger Renfrow and Gary Minton. Honorary pallbearers will be Lehmond Bennett and Curtis Alday.
