Brandon, MS Joel Kenneth Graham, 55, a resident of Brandon, MS went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2014 in Starkville, MS. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 pm Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and from 5 until 8 pm Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Newton County Funeral Home, Highway 15, Newton, MS. Graveside Services will be held Friday, August 15, 2014 at 2:30 pm at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS with Military Honors. Joel Kenneth Graham was born on September 5, 1958 in Decatur, MS to Johnnie Alton Graham and Martha Delores Quinton Graham. In his earlier career he co-owned a construction business. He went on to join the Army National Guard and made a career of it. Following completion of Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Fort Benning, GA he married his wife of 28 years, Carolyn Graham. While he was in the service, he completed his Master’s Degree. He retired at the rank of Major. Following his retirement from the military he taught high school ROTC at Pelahatchie High for several years. He loved his family very much and loved working with wood. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Sue Vaughan Graham of Brandon; three children, Brandy Sue Graham of Pearl, Ian Paul Graham and Nathan Dane Graham both of Brandon, MS; two grandchildren, Avery Huffman and Samuel Kase Myers; his mother, Martha Graham of Decatur, MS; four brothers, Jay Graham of Decatur, Jeff Graham (Nan) of Philadelphia, MS, Judson Graham and Josh Graham both of Decatur, MS; three nieces and nephews and numerous aunts and uncles.
