Joe Parks Bradford, 87, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the V. A. Medical Center in Jackson. Services were Monday, August 27, 2012 at 3 pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest with burial in Eastern Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 pm Sunday and 1:30 pm Monday at Ott and Lee in Forest. Brother Kenny Lang and Brother Tommy Anderson officiated.
Mr. Bradford was a native and lifelong resident of Scott County. He was a member of Forest United Methodist Church. Mr. Bradford was a WW II Army Veteran serving in the Battle of The Bulge as a Corporal in the 279th Engr Combat BN and was also a member of the American Legion and VFW. Mr. Bradford spent many years helping families in their time of need as a Funeral Director in Scott County.
Survivors include his daughter, Jeanne’ Rowland and husband Dr. Thomas S. of Laurel; son, Joe C. Bradford and wife Rene’ of Forest; sister, Merle Sistrunk of Jackson; brothers, James Curtis Bradford of Laurel and Larry Bradford of Byram; grandchildren, Brad Rowland and wife Christy of Brandon, Jason Rowland and wife Lindsey of Madison, Scott Rowland of Laurel and Nicole Waldrip of Forest; great-grandchildren, Russ Rowland, Elle Rowland, Jay Rowland and Dylan Bagley. Mr. Bradford was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Bradford in 2011.
Pallbearers are Brad Rowland, Jason Rowland, Scott Rowland, Dwight Comans,Jacob Bradford and Gary Sistrunk.
