Funeral services for Mr. John Thomas Allen will be conducted at 2 pm on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jackie Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Leesburg Church of Christ Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the funeral home.
Mr. Allen, age 66 of Pelahatchie passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at his son’s home.
He enjoyed working and fishing and loved his grandchildren. He was a member of the Leesburg Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by one son: John Thomas Allen, Jr.; his parents: Levi and Jessie Mae Bowman Allen; and one brother: Jimmy Allen.
Survivors include five children: Lawanda (Johnny) Germany of Lake; Eric Allen of Conehatta; Tina (Tony) Rice of Jackson; Thomas (Shirley) Allen of Conehatta; and Alana (Davie) Mowdy of Brandon; 22 grandchildren: J.T. and Rachel Miles; Dylan and Dawson Hankins; Blake (Chrissy) Germany; Mandy (Ben) Jones; Heather, Jessica, Samantha and Kristen Rice; Kejuan, Deuavion, Natalie, Darrien, and Breanna Jackson; Easton, Mason, Nikolas, and Makayla Allen; Katilyn, Marcus, and Brooklyn Mowdy; seven great-grandchildren: Mason, Brooklyn, and Brittley Jones, R’Cavius, Jackie, Krys, and Giovonni; three sisters: Ruby (Juneo) Richardson of Pelahatchie; Rita Faye (Bob) Richardson of Morton; and Linda Sheppard of Brandon; two brothers: Gilbert Allen of Polkville and Mike (Bonita) Allen of Morton;
Pallbearers will be J.T. Miles, Chandler Powell, Dylan Hankins, Dawson Hankins, Nikolas Allen and Zack Prestage.
