John Marcus Dugan, Brandon, MS


John Marcus Dugan, 21, passed away in Rankin County on Thurs. Oct. 4, 2012 due to an automobile accident. Visitation will be held Fri. Oct. 5 , 2012 from 5pm.-8pm. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and from 9am.-9:45am. Sat. Oct. 6, 2012 at Pinelake Church in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 10am. Sat. Oct. 6, 2012 at Pinelake Church with a 2pm. graveside service to follow at the Shuqualak Cemetery in Noxubee County.

John Marcus was born on Dec. 19, 1990 and was a lifelong resident of Rankin County. He was a loving Christian who was baptized when he was 11 and was a member of Pinelake Church in Brandon, MS. John Marcus was a graduate of University Christian School, graduating with honors in 2009 and was currently attending Holmes Community College. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity at Mississippi State University. John Marcus was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, wake boarding, playing football, pole vaulting and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Betsy Dugan of Brandon; his sister, Kimberly Bond (Justin) of Brandon; two nieces, Neely and Norah Beth Bond both of Brandon; maternal grandparents, Marcus and Nelia Kate Anderson of Shuqualak; paternal grandparents, John L. and Earline Dugan of Hernando (formerly of Shuqualak); maternal great-grandmother, Elizabeth Combs of Columbus and many aunts, uncles, cousins and relatives. John Marcus was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Dugan in 2003.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pinelake Church at 6071 Mississippi Hwy. 25, Brandon, MS 39047.
