John Donald Durham, 78, passed away on August 4, 2011, in Forest, Mississippi. John was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on January 28, 1933, but soon moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. In the early sixties, John settled in Forest, Mississippi, where he owned and operated various local businesses. For the past forty-eight years, John devoted himself to rearing his family and expanding The Durham Co., Durham Farms, and Precision Auto Parts.
John is survived by his wife, Vianne, and two sons, Mike and Jim. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Ann, his grandchildren, Eleanor, James, Michael Ann, Mary Palmer, John Cade, and great-grandson, Brody. Other surviving family members include his sister Sue Schorr, brother-in-law Jerry, four nieces and nephews, and eight great-nieces and great-nephews. John is predeceased by his parents, John Marvin and Mildred Kinman Durham, first wife, Paula Stewart Durham, and God child Julie Ann Schorr.
The Reverend Andy Boles will conduct the service at 3pm in the Ott & Lee Chapel on August 7, 2011, with Brother Jamey Germany and Reverend Mark Smith assisting.
Pallbearers are Norman Brown, David Clark, Billy Price, David Tadlock, Joe Tadlock, Jerry Tillman, Gene Walker, and John Williamson. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Forest. John will be laid to rest in Eastern Cemetery, and Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest will handle arrangements.
