John Herbert Milford, 83, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00a.m. Monday, April 9, 2012 at Flowood Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the church and also one hour prior to the service Monday. A 3:30p.m. graveside service will be held in the Marks Cemetery in Marks, Mississippi.
Following High School, John served in the U.S. Army, Army of Occupation, in Germany. He was an aerospace engineer and retired from Martin-Marietta, who contracted for NASA.

John was known for his subtle wit and his quiet, gentle ways. A neighbor once observed that anyone who did not like John Milford simply did not like people. He was faithful in attendance at Flowood Baptist Church.


He was preceded in death by one grandson, Jeremy Harvey, Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Kathleen Milford; children, Cynthia Brown Palma and husband John, Anthony Rae Milford and wife Lori, Anne Marie Brown, and Tonya Hall and husband Larry; sister, Alta Haddad; grandchildren, Allisha Rawson, Zane Hall, Candice Mims, Brandy Halstead, and Aidan Milford; and 5 great-grandchildren.
