Interment: Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS
John Richard Nye, Sr., 71, of Brandon, MS, passed away on January 13, 2016 at St. Dominic Hospital from Cardiac Arrest. Visitation will be 5-8pm Friday, January 15, 2016 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Services will be held at 1pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS.
Mr. Nye was born on March 16, 1944 in Tacoma, WA to Charles and Vera Nye. He graduated from Addison High School, Addison, MI in 1962. He married Christine Finchum on January 31, 1964 and they had one son, John Richard Nye, Jr., born on December 20, 1966.
John was an avid sportsman, who loved to hunt, fish, golf and bowl. He also loved going to church services at First Baptist Church Brandon, where he had many friends.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Nye; son, John Richard Nye, Jr.; brother, David Baxter (Nancy); stepfather, Ray Vann; stepsisters, Brenda and Sandy Vann; and stepbrothers, Kevin and Gary Vann. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Nye; mother, Vera Herold Nye; his grandparents; and brother, Scott Baxter.
The family would like to thank all the many friends and family who have supported us through John’s Illness. We ask you to consider in lieu of flowers making a donation to First Baptist Church of Brandon, Chest of Joash or charity of your choice.
