A gentle, humble, kind-spirited man, who never complained, Mr. Park will be remembered as a man of integrity and impeccable character. As for his family, his devotion and love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will be live on in their lives for generations to come. Revered as having the “patience of a saint” the example he set before others is a testimony of the care he demonstrated toward his family members, specifically his late wife and his mother-in-law. During earlier years during the time of his children’s raising, he was instrumental as a strong force in the community youth sporting leagues where he took a special interest in instilling valuable “life” lessons for the betterment of those children he was privileged to be associated with. In later years, he enjoyed hobbies of woodworking and making stained glass creations. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Forest.
Survivors include two children: John A. Park, Jr. and his wife, Deborah of Morton and Kay Park Barton and her husband, Butch of Forest; five grandchildren: Brian (Brittany) Barton, Brent Barton, Christopher (Brooke) Park, Laura Elizabeth (Kevin) Albritton, and Amy Park; eight great-grandchildren; one sister: Sallie Costilow of Griffin, GA; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Faye Hardy Park; his parents: Clois and Lois Hegwood Park, and two sisters: Opal Richardson and Dell Duncan.
