John Paul "Jody" Grant

John Paul “Jody” Grant, age 83 passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon from 9:00am until 10:00am. A graveside service will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Raleigh at 11:30am.

He was born on October 1, 1940, to the late Travis Ulysses Grant and Effie Mabel Ware Grant.

Paul or as some knew him “Jody” worked over 50 years as a Pharmacist primarily for Southwest Drug Store and then for MS Baptist Hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Raymond. He loved to hunt, fish, watch the Atlanta Braves, and anything related to the University of Southern Mississippi.

He is survived by his children, Dave (Robin) Grant, Brent (Mary) Bell, Suzanne Wright, and Paul (Bryna) Grant; the mother of his children Barbara Grant; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; three stepdaughters Jennifer Hinton, Laura Kelly, and Jill May; two sisters Frosty (O.T.) Gilbert and Leone Stinson; other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Nancy Cox, four brothers, and his second wife Penny Grant.
