John W. Shedd, age 77 of Pearl passed away on February 27, 2023, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Visitation will be Tuesday February 28, 2023, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm and again on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. A Celebration of John’s Life will be Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 2:00pm from the chapel of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with Rev. Darren Miley officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Blake Gordon, Tyler Gordon, Justin Shedd, J.K. Shedd, Jason Roper, Tyler McClendon, and Triston Cowan.
John was born in Brandon, MS to J.K. Shedd and Emogene Watson Shedd.
He loved to hunt and fish, but most of all he was a family man. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved those grandkids.
John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lucille Shedd of Pearl; mother, Emogene Watson Shedd of Pelahatchie; children, John K. (Melissa) Shedd of Brandon, Jesse W. (Jeannine) Shedd of Pearl, Stephanie C. (Barry) Gordon of Brandon, and Michael A. Shedd (Artie) of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren, Ashley (Jason) Roper, Natalie (Tyler) McClendon, Blake (Madison) Gordon, Justin (Candace) Shedd, Haley (Triston) Cowan, Tyler Gordon, and J.K. Shedd; great-grandchildren, Adalynn Roper, Myles and Paxton McClendon, Ivy and Hayes Gordon, Cohen Shedd, and Jaxon Cowan; siblings, Betty Wilson of Mobile, Al, Ray Shedd of Pelahatchie, Rita (Ralph) Myers of AR, Nita (Ricky) Payne of Lena, Cindy (Johnny) Welch of Pelahatchie, and Roy Shedd of Pelahatchie; his loving LuLu; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, J.K. Shedd, siblings Edna Murphy and Ann Ragan.
