John Allen Shivers, 36, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at University Hospital in Jackson. Visitation is 10 am Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon until the 1 pm service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Slater Cemetery near New Hebron.
John was a native of Jefferson Davis County and a resident of Rankin County for the past eleven years. He was a heavy equipment operator in Local #624 for the past fourteen years and was a member of Old Hebron Baptist Church. John was an avid sportsman, enjoying all aspects of the outdoors, but his true love was spending time with his family, especially his children. Even after death, John showed his endless love by being an Organ Donor.
Survivors include his wife, Dana Simmons Shivers of Brandon; children, Sabre Alexis Shivers of Ocean Springs, Chloe Elizabeth Shivers of Brandon and Colby Cain Shivers of Brandon; parents, Jerry and Ann Shivers of New Hebron; sisters, Charity Weaver of North Carolina and Memorie Crain of Ocean Springs; brother, Jerry Houston “Rocky” Shivers of Arkansas; mother and father-in-law, Jan and Clyde Simmons of Brandon and paternal grandmother, Kathryn Shivers of New Hebron.
