John Simons

John Burton Simons, age 78, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at his home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held from 9-10 am Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday at the funeral home with a 3 pm interment in Chatham Cemetery in Louisiana.

Mr. Simons was born November 13, 1941 in Columbia, Louisiana to Henry Silas Simons and Dorothy Bratton Butler. He was married to Shelby Jean Ledbetter on September 10, 1960 until her death on August 24, 2009. In 2010 John married Bobbie Davis and was married to her for the past 10 years. Mr. Simons was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 8 years and retired from the United States Air Force Reserves. He loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Simons is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Silas Simons and Dorothy Bratton Butler Simons; wife, Shelby Jean Ledbetter Simons; daughter, Marla Angela Wallace; sister, Shirley Simpson and son-in-law, Jerry Wright.

Mr. Simons is survived by his wife, Bobbie Davis Simons; his children, Lt Col John Edward (Wendi) Simons, Jerry DeWayne (Becky) Simons, Kimberly Cheyenne (David) Paul, Terri Wright and Virginia (George) Pena; brothers, Doniva Simons and William Simons; sisters, Edna Lou Smith, Helen Marie Simons and Wanda Faye (Roy) Mathews; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
