John “Ben” Kaiser, Sr.

John Bernard “Ben” Kaiser, Sr., 81, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 at his home in Brandon surrounded by his loving family. A Rosary service will be held at 1:30pm Sunday, November 3, 2013 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl followed by visitation from 2:00pm until 4:00pm. The Funeral Mass will begin at 4:00pm in the sanctuary at St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, November 4, 2013 in the Krotz Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery in Krotz Springs, LA.

Ben was the last surviving member of his immediate family. After his family, his greatest love was bluegrass music, which inspired his accomplished talents on guitar, mandolin and banjo, as well as his love for dancing. He was very personable. He never met a stranger. He loved to sit and visit with everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Mack Everett Kemp, III.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jane Landry Kaiser; six children, Sue LeBlanc (Johnny) of Krotz Springs, LA, Karen Kaiser of Greenville, SC, Sister Janice Kaiser, RSM of Biloxi, MS, Rhonda McGinnis (Lincoln) of Greenwood, SC, John Kaiser, Jr. (Stacy) of Madison, MS, and Amy Ortiz (Refugio) of Brandon, MS; 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to Dr. Tondre Buck, Mr. Warren Hull, and all the staff at UMMC hematology and Oncology Clinic at the Jackson Medical Mall and the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care.
