Calvin Pilgrim, 73, a resident of Morton died Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest. Funeral services were 2 pm Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Morton Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held 5-9 pm Monday, May 7, 2012 at the funeral home. Rev. Floyd Stevenson officiated the service. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pilgrim was a native of Kemper Co. He was the son of Clifton and Aline Pilgrim. He was married to Martha Hamilton Pilgrim. Mr. Pilgrim was in the poultry industry and was employed by B.C. Rogers over 40 years. He was a member of Two Mile Baptist Church. Mr. Pilgrim loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Pilgrim was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Aline Pilgrim, brothers, Roy Leggett, C. H. and Luther Pilgrim, sister-in-law, Jo Pilgrim.
Mr. Pilgrim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Martha Hamilton Pilgrim of Morton; Lisa Pilgrim (Richard) Fitzhugh of Forest; sisters-in law, Mary Ann Pilgrim of FL and Marie Pilgrim of Carthage; grandchildren, Candice Marie (Andrew) Grayson of Forest and Mandy Fitzhugh Massey of Forest; great grandchildren, Ethan Massey of Forest and Zayleigh Grayson of Forest; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Billy Williams, Andrew Grayson, Justin Box, Gary Hamilton, Shelby Hamilton and Tommy Wayne Hamilton. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Christopher Hamilton and Jeffery Box.
