Mr. John David King, age 74, a resident of Crossroads passed away on Sunday, February 02, 2014 at his residence. Visitation was held 5-9pm Monday, February 3, 2014 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 9:30am-11am Tuesday at Thorn Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Johnny Earl Jones and Rev. Bobby Tagert officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. King was born in Marion County in 1939. He was a truck driver for many years. John David enjoyed working puzzle books and watching westerns on tv. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer David King and Bonnie Alexander King Knight; 3 sisters, Marie Nations, Nell Maxwell and Charlene Wells; 7 brothers, Jim, Ed, Walter, Bobby, Calvin, John Willis and Henry King.

He is survived by his wife, Sara Conn King of Crossroads; 5 children, Rebecca “Becky” Robb of Ohio, Homer King (Vanessa) of Jayess, Clint King (Brandi) of Pelahatchie, Billy King (Vanessa) of Byram and Luke King of Pelahatchie; sister, June Dunnaway of McComb; 10 grandchildren, Joseph King, Austin King, CJ King, Jason King, Kasey King, Taylor Chappell, William “Zach” King, Sarah Elizabeth King, Beth King and Lucas King; 8 lived with and loved as children, Willie Haven, Preston Haven, Callie Page, Holly Rodgers, Brennen Bryant, Cameron Bryant, Derrick Scoggins and Travis Jordan; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Charlie Scoggins, Derrick Scoggins, Ben Conn, Travis Jordan, Willie Haven, Preston Haven and Derrick Ballard.
