SERVICES: 2 PM THURSDAY AT OTT AND LEE FUNERAL HOME IN BRANDON BURIAL: MORTON MEMORIAL GARDENS VISITATION: 12 NOON THURSDAY UNTIL SERVICE TIME AT OTT AND LEE IN BRANDON John Edwin Lee, age 86 and oldest son of the late Jack E. and Talullah (Toolie) Latham Lee passed away Monday, September 22, 2014. Visitation is 12 noon Thursday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 2 pm Thursday in the Chapel of Ott and Lee Funeral Home with interment in Morton Memorial Gardens. A Scott County native, he was a graduate of Morton High School and Mississippi State University. John retired as a General Motors Franchise new car dealer in Forest, MS. He was active in the Mississippi Automobile Dealers Association, serving in numerous offices including President. John proudly served as a Mississippi State Senator from 1976-1984 for Scott and Newton County where he was a member of a number of legislative committees including Finance, Highways and Transportation, Agriculture, Game and Fish, Oil and Gas, Investigate State Offices and Enrolled Bills. He previously served on the Board of Trustees of East Central Community College and on the Board of Directors of Mid-Mississippi Development District. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Fay Lee, a son, Jack (Jane) Lee II of Brandon and daughter, Janis Tischner of Kennesaw, GA; two grandchildren, Stacey Lee (Brett) Boyett and Barrett of North Hollywood CA and John E. Lee II of Omaha, NE; also family members, Franklin (Joy) Power, Jr., Brady and Bryce; Tami P. (William) Carollo, Krystle C. (Nick) Hinton and Helen; Whitney C. (Cory) Messer, Tatum, Cooper and Kendal. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, Bobbie Jean Vaughn Lee; grandson, Abbott Tischner and his only sibling brother, J. A. (Buddy) Lee. John was an active member of First Baptist Church in Brandon and the family request in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the First Baptist Church Brandon, CTL Fund, 309 South College Street, Brandon, MS 39042.
