Funeral services for John F. “Freddie” Weeks will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Forest Baptist Church in Forest, Mississippi with Dr. Scott Fortenberry and Brother Bill Pittman officiating. Burial will be at the Goodhope Baptist Church Cemetery in Lake, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2013 and 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest, Mississippi.
Freddie, 63 of Forest, Mississippi, passed away December 25, 2013 at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.
He was born on January 5, 1950 in Laurel, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Forest High School “Class of 1968” and East Central Junior College in Decatur, Mississippi.
Freddie was a dedicated member of Forest Baptist Church and The Seekers Sunday School class. He was an avid outdoorsman and served in leadership roles within his community. He loved playing tennis, fishing with his friends and spending time with his family. Above all, Freddie was a true believer in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and lived his life full of grace, love and dignity.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years Peggy L. Hollingsworth, one son, John Christopher Weeks of Ridgeland, Mississippi and one daughter Jessica Kaye Weeks of Jackson, Mississippi. He is also survived by his mother, Johnnie Ruth Weaver of Lena, Mississippi and one uncle, Carol Gibson and his wife Sherrel of Jackson, Mississippi; One brother David Weeks, and his wife Shelia of Morton, Mississippi; One sister Shirley Mashburn of Memphis, Tennessee; One step-brother Teddy Weeks, and his wife Donna of Ridgeland, Mississippi; Two brother-in-laws; Butch Hollingsworth and his wife Rita of Lake, Mississippi; Tommy Hollingsworth, and his wife Stephanie of Brandon, Mississippi; Two sisters-in-laws Patricia Harbour of Meridian, Mississippi, and Janet Harmon and her husband Randy of Lake, Mississippi, eight nieces, seven nephews, and nine great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell F. Weeks, and brother, Tommy Weeks.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Clark, Randy Harmon, Butch Hollingsworth, Tommy Hollingsworth, Bobby Shumaker, Rick Sumrall, Donnie Thomas, and Johnny Weatherford.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Forest High School Class of 1968, and former co-workers of Bell South and AT&T.
