Johnnie Ruth Hutson, 80, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Merit Health Rankin. Visitation will be held 5-8 pm Friday, December 23, 2016 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and 10-11 am Saturday at Union Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday at the church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Brooks Porter and Rev. Alvin Doyle will officiate the services.
Mrs. Hutson was a native of Rankin County and is the daughter of Tom and Gladys Overby Parks. She is married to Halbert Hutson. Mrs. Hutson was Principal at Puckett Elementary School for many years before retiring. She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Puckett and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with grandchildren and family. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. Hutson was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Gladys Overby Parks.
Mrs. Hutson is survived by her husband of 57 years, Halbert Hutson; children, Hal Hutson and Sara (Phillip) Means; grandchildren, Webb Means, Wade Means and Shelby Hutson; and a host of friends.
