Johnnie Sue Sims, age 90, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Scott Regional Hospital in Morton. Visitation will be held 4pm-6pm, Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and Monday from 9:30am-10:30am at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 11am Monday, June 13, 2022, at Independence United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Ryan McGough and Bro. Jerry Lewis will officiate the services. Serving as pallbearers, Steven Crotwell, Stan Crotwell, David Livingston, Duncan Beard, Bruce Bridges, Josh Stuart. Honorary pallbearers, Edgar Purvis, Stites Easterling, Frankie Earls. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Johnnie Sue was born in Scott County on December 19, 1931. She loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church. Johnnie Sue enjoyed reading and being with her family. She worked with Talon in Morton for many years, and when it sold to Peavey Electric she continued working till her retirement. She will greatly be missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Donald and Susie Lee Williams Donald, and husband, J.C. Sims.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay Stuart and husband, Direll of Morton; brother, Ira W. Donald of Morton; 2 grandchildren, Shirell Stuart Betts and husband, Michael and Doug Stuart and wife, Wendy; 4 great grandchildren, Tyler Betts, Kate Betts, Lexey Stuart and Jett Stuart and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Independence United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
