Johnnie L. Bridges, 88, died Friday, May 03, 2013, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 5-8pm and Sunday, May 5 from 1pm until 1:45pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS. Funeral services are 2pm Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the funeral home, with burial in Glenwood Memorial Park in Richland, MS.
Mr. Bridges was born in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi and has lived in Richland since 1954, where he was a member of First Baptist Church in Richland, MS. Mr. Bridges who was known as “Uncle Buddy” and “Papaw Johnnie”, was one of the greatest generation that fought for American Freedom in WWII in the Battles for Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes and Rhinland Campaigns. “He made Colonial Good Bread”.

He is survived by 4 children: Annette Costello (Joe), Bobby Bridges (Beverly), Sherry Bailey (Charlie) and Mark Bridges (Lexie); 3 sisters, Maggie Mahaffey, Nancy Hawthorne and Archie Rose Cordray; 1 brother, Harvel Bridges; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Bridges and his brother, Charles Bridges
