Mr. Johnny Q. Bynum, age 83, a resident of Pelahatchie passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Mississippi Care Center in Morton.  Visitation was held 5-9pm Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 9am-10am Friday at Ott & Lee in Morton.  Services were held 11am Friday, July 28, 2017 at Eastside Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.  Bro. Doug Rummells officiated the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Bynum was born in Martinville, MS on January 16, 1934.  He loved his little farm of chickens and cows.  He also like cheering for the New Orleans Saints football team.  Johnny enjoyed wood working.  He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Bynum; 2 sons, Sherman Sanders and George Bynum; granddaughter, Heather Holsomback; brothers Robert “Bo” Bynum and Mack Bynum; sisters, Martha Bynum Hall and Grace Steadham.

He is survived by his 4 children, John Bynum (Vicki) of Pelahatchie, Linda Holsomback (Marty) of Pelahatchie, Ricky Sanders of Louisiana and Michele Sanders Duffy (Dennis) of Portland, Oregon; 2 brothers, J.W. Bynum (Dorothy) of Pelahatchie and Dale Bynum of Pelahatchie; 10 grandchildren, Samantha Cooper (Chad), Zachary Bynum, Jessalyn Holsomback, Ricky Roberts, Seth Ash, Ricky Sanders Ash, Corey Sanders (Kelly), Monica Chapman, Joey Hughes and Kayla McCue; 15 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers were Joe Bynum, Curtis Coleman, Ken Bynum, Johnnie Renfroe, Brian Hall, Kevin Hall, Robert Stewart, Westin Stewart and Vince Bynum.
