Johnny Jones

Johnny L. Jones, age 70, a resident of Pearl, MS passed away peacefully Thursday, March 31, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 4, 2022, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with interment at Lakewood Memorial Park South in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Jones was born on September 27, 1951, in Pearl, MS to Johnny Lumas Jones and Blondel Elizabeth Bell Jones. He was married to Lillian Herring Jones. Mr. Jones was an avid NASCAR fan who loved traveling to Talladega twice a year to take in the races and spend time with family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and never expected anything in return. He will be remembered by his family as a gentle giant that loved his family and enjoyed sharing the real meaning of life, one who was always honest. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his son, Kristopher Cupstid and his parents, Johnny Lumas Jones and Blondel Elizabeth Bell Jones.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lillian Herring Jones; daughter, Bridget Cline; brother, Mike Jones; sister, Mary Jones; three grandchildren, Hannah Claire Henderson, Julie Elizabeth Henderson, and Olivia Grace Cline; special niece, Missy Jones; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mississippi Animal Rescue League in Jackson, MS.
