Funeral services will be held 2 pm Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton Burial in the Damascus Cemetery in Sebastopol, MS.Visitation will be held 5-9 pm Friday at the funeral home in Morton.
Johnny Tatum, 56, a
resident of Carthage and formerly of Morton died March 6, 2013 at the Baptist
Medical Center Leake in Carthage, MS. Visitation will be 5-9 pm Friday, March
8, 2013 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services will be 2 pm
Saturday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Damascus
Cemetery in Sebastopol, MS. Rev. Billy Henry will officiate the service. Ott and
Lee Funeral Home in Morton will be in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tatum was a native of
Scott Co. He was the son of Hubert and Allie Fair Tune Tatum. Mr. Tatum was a
truck driver for B.C. Rogers many years. He was a member of the Edinburg
Baptist Church. He liked to fish, hunting, working in the oil field and driving
the Big Rig. He loved his Dotson and Bassett Hounds. Mr. Tatum never met a
stranger and was good at striking up a conversation. He loved his family very
much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be
greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Tatum was preceded in
death by his parents, Hubert and Allie Fair Tune Tatum and his brother, Richard
Tatum.
Mr. Tatum is survived by
his children, Brandi Tatum Gunn and her husband Thomas Gunn, David Tatum,
Melissa Tatum Cumberland and her husband Henry Cumberland and Kimberlee Tatum;
sisters, Clara Boykin and Rachel Evans; brothers, Jerry Tatum, Alford Tatum,
Troy Tatum and Roy Tatum; 5 grandchildren, Ashton Tatum, Anthony Gunn, Casey
Gunn, Aiden Tatum Davis and Atlee Grace Cumberland; many nieces, nephews,
cousins and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Runnels, Ernie Davis, Mark Henry, Johnny Smith, Michael Harrell and
Derrick Freeny.
