Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Hodge Hill Cemetery.Visitation will be held from 5 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.Johnny Eugene Sumrall, 70, a resident of Pelahatchie died Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Scott Regional Hospital in Morton. Funeral services were held at 10 am Saturday, August 23, 2013 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Hodge Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held 5-8 pm Friday at the funeral home. Rev. John Vaughn and Rev. Donnie Stuart officiated the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Sumrall was a native of Scott Co. He was the son of Carl and Mamie Pearl Jacobs Sumrall. He was married to Peggy R. McMillan Huff Sumrall. He worked for the City of Morton as a machine operator many years. He served his country in the Army National Guard. Mr. Sumrall enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cutting up with family and friends an all-around great man. He loved his family and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him. Mr. Sumrall was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mamie Pearl Jacobs Sumrall; daughters, Connie Nevil and Debbie Varner and his brothers, C L and Lamar Sumrall. Mr. Sumrall is survived by his wife, Peggy Ruth McMillan Huff Sumrall of Pelahatchie; children, Cynthia (Larry) Humphrey of Pearl, Kenneth (Anita) Sumrall of Pelahatchie, Sammy Huff of Pelahatchie, Regina Adcox of Pelahatchie, Glenda (Tim) Robertson of Sardis and Jamie (Connie) Huff of Morton; sisters, Bonnie Roberts of Morton, Rosie Murray of CA, Nancy (John) Hall of Osyka and Nan (Roy) Fullilove of FL; numerous grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Serving and honoring Mr. Sumrall as pallbearers were Brian Adcox, Frank Clark, Gary Varner, Zac Varner, Carl Sumrall, Brad Cole, Cody Huff, Corey Jones, Patrick Humphrey, Craig Humphrey and Eric Sumrall.
