John Pat Grubbs, 77, passed away Friday, August 24, 2012 at Miss. Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation is 2-5 pm Sunday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 10 am Monday at First Baptist Church Pearl with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.

Mr. Grubbs was a native of Simpson County and has lived in Brandon since 2003 moving from Pearl where he lived over 40 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Pearl where he served as a Deacon, former Youth Sunday School Teacher and had formerly served as Church Treasurer for 19 years. Mr. Grubbs was an Army Veteran serving from 1954 until 1956. He was a Mason, Scottish Rite Mason, Shriner and was a former member of the Jackson Civitan Club. Until recently he had owned Globe Finance Company in Jackson since 1962. One of the most precious memories of Mr. Grubbs is that he trusted the Lord wholeheartedly
and encouraged others to do likewise.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Grubbs of Brandon; children, Kathy Perkins and husband Bill of Plano, TX, Wanda Holloway and husband Bub of Brandon, Rhonda Stewart and husband Kenny of Pearl, Keith Grubbs and wife Jana of Brandon; grandchildren, Lindsey Wade and husband Brandon, Emily Perkins, Dana Kinsley and husband Josh, Morgen Holloway, Hannah Grace and Caleb Grubbs. The family would like to say a special thanks to Greta Rozell and other caregivers who helped take care of Mr. Grubbs for many months.

Mr. Grubbs was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Cola Grubbs and brother, Allen Grubbs.

The family requests memorials to First Baptist Church Pearl, 405 North Bierdeman Road, Pearl, MS 39208.
