John Prentiss "Buck" Allen

John Prentis "Buck"  Allen, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2023. Graveside services will be 2pm Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Andrew Chapel Cemetery in Brandon, MS. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.

Mr. Allen was born in Scott County, MS to Garfield Prentis Allen and Willie Dee Fortune Allen. He worked at Marquette Cement Plant in Brandon for over 24 years. After the plant closed he went to work for the Mississippi Ag Museum for over 10 years before retiring.

Survivors include his children, John Dennis Allen (Ginger), James E. Allen (Sherra), and Sheila Allen; sisters, Jean Purvis, Hilda Moore, and Shirley Schuster; grandchildren, Audrey Thomas (Ryan), Andrew Allen, and Paige Allen; great grandchildren, Matthew Thomas, John Thomas, and Lila Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Christine Bond.
