John Wayne Neese

John Wayne Neese, 65, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation is 5-8 pm Thursday and 9:30 am Friday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.  Services are 11 am Friday, August 16, 2018 at the funeral home with burial in Parkway Cemetery in Morton. Rev. Darby Combs and Rev. Josh Neese will officiate.

Wayne was a native of Sunflower County and a longtime resident of Rankin County. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Wayne loved to go to auctions and absolutely knew the “Art of the Deal”.  He had a special love for his family and always enjoyed when children would think he was Santa Claus.

Survivors include his wife, Linda K. Neese; children, Darlene Neese, Kim Barefoot (Danny), John Neese, Jr., Steve Hodges (Jill), James Neese (Melinda), Holly Burgess, Chris Neese, Kevin Neese (Kristin), Karen Chappell (Jesse) and Katherine Chappell (Michael); brother, Roy Neese; sisters, Polly Thornhill (Vernon), Janie Goss (Calvin) and Kathy Nazary (Ray); numerous  grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, James and Willie Neese; brother, Bobby Neese; grandparents, Lonzie and Kitty Stewart and Ellie and Arthur Neese; brother-in-law, James David Wilson.

Pallbearers are Kameron Barefoot, Roy Chico McLendon, Jacob Williamson, Chris Neese, Jesse Chappell, John Spence, Zeno Mangum and Dereck Yawn. Honorary pallbearers are Bentley Neese and Jaxyn Hancock.
