Jonathan Charles Ray of Bay Springs, Mississippi, passed away on August 31, 2023, in Big Lake, Texas. He was born on May 26, 1985, in Jackson, Mississippi.
Jonathan lived a vibrant life filled with love, passion, and adventure. He was an adoring husband to Angela Ray and a devoted father to his children Chloe, Brantley, and Aubreigh. Jonathan's family was the center of his universe, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Known for his zest for life, Jonathan had a wide range of hobbies and interests. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who found solace and joy in nature. Additionally, Jonathan had a passion for driving 18 wheelers, liked show cars, and loved music. These were activities that brought him immense pleasure and satisfaction.
Jonathan will be remembered for his kind heart and warm personality. He had an infectious smile that could brighten anyone's day. His compassion knew no bounds, and he would always lend a helping hand to those in need. Jonathan's genuine love for others left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
Family meant everything to Jonathan. His relationship with his wife Angela was a true partnership filled with love, support, and laughter. Their bond served as an inspiration to all who knew them. Jonathan was also a proud father who relished watching his children grow. He loved them unconditionally and took great pride in their accomplishments.
In addition to his wife and children, Jonathan is survived by his loving family members including his brother Cory Ray and brother Jacob Ray (Sissy), father Raymond Ray and mother Wanda Ray. He was preceded in death by his son Kaid Ray, maternal grandparents Wardene Guy and J.C. Guy, paternal grandparents Virginia Ray, Jeanette Stewart, and Paul Ray.
A celebration of Jonathan's life will be held on September 9th at Ott & Lee Funeral Homes - Morton in Morton, MS. The visitation will begin at 5:00 PM and conclude at 8:00 PM. Another visitation will take place on September 10th, starting at 1:00 PM and concluding at 3:00 PM, at the same location. The funeral service will follow the visitation on September 10th, commencing at 3:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Church of God Cemetery in Polkville, MS.
Jonathan Charles Ray touched the lives of countless people during his time with us. His love, compassion, and zest for life were contagious. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may no longer be with us, Jonathan's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
