Jonathan "Jon" Hunt

Jonathan Hunt, 33, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 in Madison County. Visitation will be 10am -12 noon Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Fannin First Baptist Church. The church services will be at 1 pm on Saturday at the church with the burial following in the church cemetery. Dr. Ron Bird will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.

Jon was a native and lifelong resident of Rankin County. He had attended Brandon High School and was a member of Fannin First Baptist Church. For the past 15 years, Jon was a technician at Nissan in Canton, also owned S&G Custom Furniture and was an avid MSU fan.

Jon was a very hard worker and was a man of his word. He loved his wife and children very much and was totally devoted to them. He would stop doing anything to be sure his children’s needs were met. Jon will be truly missed by his family, friends and co-workers at Nissan.

Survivors include his wife, Laura of Brandon; children, Saylor Hunt, Gaige Hunt and Suttyn Claire Hunt all of Brandon; parents, Dewayne and Geraldine Hunt of Brandon; sister, Michele Chambers (Jose) of Richland; brothers, Donny Hunt of Morton and Daniel Hunt (Nicole) of Divide, Colorado; mother-in-law and father-in law, Kathy and Mark McDill of Pearl; mother-in-law, Renea Herring of Morton, brother-in-law, Hunter McDill of Pearl and sister-in-law, Rebecca Herring of Morton; nieces, Kyleigh Hunt and Azia Chambers; nephews, Kamden Hunt, Brent Hunt and Timothy Chambers. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Clay Herring.
