Jon Zakary is an only child to his family, but a child in and to so many families. He has too much joy and love to share to have it contained, he spreads it to all who will let him share. His enthusiasm for mud riding, mules, Dixie National, MSU, and car shows is contagious, causing many to participate, just to watch his excitement and antics. JZ is wise beyond his years teaching others a better way by example of his life. He leaves us a longtime legacy of his short lifetime. He never focuses on himself and always points attention given to him straight to Jesus. His worship to the Lord has been his strength in weak times. He is now with his father, lover of his soul, redeemer, and the One who received him with, “Well done, JZ, my good and faithful servant.” May his life be a resounding song to us of his declaration, “I belong to Jesus and I trust him.” That, love and faith will continue to live through the many he speed it into, sharing his Jesus everywhere with everyone.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Regina Michelle Craven Boykin; grandfather, John "Pops" Craven and cousin, Nicholas Boykin.
He is survived by his father, Charlie Boykin of Morton; girlfriend, Josie Pipitone of Brandon; bestfriend/brother, Caleb Combs of Flowood; grandmothers, Tena Craven of Morton and Irene Boykin of Pelahatchie; aunts and uncles, Renee and Robert Bynum, Amy C. and Lucas Brown, Carol Brown and Kirk Powell, Victor and Toni Boykin, Keith and Pam Watson and Bubba Boykin; many other family, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Carlisle, Doug Landrum, Caleb Combs, Lane Landrum, Bailey Boykin and Jacob Boykin. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Watson, Zach Sullivan and Chris Wallace.
