Joseph Cardell Gomillion, age 87, of Forest passed away Sunday November 11, 2010 following a lengthy illness.
Graveside services were conducted at 2pm Wednesday November 24, 2010 from the Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Aaron Lewis and Rev Bob Smith officiated the services.
Mr. Gomillion was a lifelong resident of Scott County, a member of the Ridge Baptist Church and had retired as a Self-employed Wood Craftsman. He was a veteran of the United States Army of World War II, serving abroad. He met his lovely wife in England during his service to our country.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jody C. Gomilllion and Lorenna Lewis Gomillion.
Mr. Gomillion is survived by his wife Ruth Gomillion of Forest and one daughter Rose Stokes and husband William of Brookhaven, Ms. He also leaves a legacy of two grandchildren Shane Stokes and Eric Stokes and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Greg Evansm David Hankins, Phil Evans, Johnny C. Ellis, Johnny Ladd and Brian Gomillion.
Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest was in charge of arrangements.
