Josephine "Jo" Roland

Mrs. Josephine “Jo” Roland was born in Minot, North Dakota, on June 14, 1937 to her parents: Joseph and Elinor Hovey Burke. She passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center at the age of 82.

Mrs. Roland was a longtime resident of Scott County, but had lived in Philadelphia for the past six years. She was a retired registered nurse with the Scott County Health Department who enjoyed gardening and reading. She was a Christian by testament of her faith and held church affiliation with Church of the King at Morton. She will be remembered for the love that she had for her family, in particular her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Roland is preceded in death by her husband: Hubert L. Roland and one son: Hugh Allen Roland.

Survivors include one son: Mike (Kim) Roland of Philadelphia; one daughter-in-law: Gayle Roland Weber of Houston, TX and five grandchildren: Hannah, Gabriel, Kayla, Daltrey, and Joshua.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 30, 2019 from the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with visitation beginning two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the Harperville Memorial Park under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
