Joey Reeves, age 22, a resident of Morton passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2011 from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident in Morton. Visitation was held 4-9pm Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 8:30am-1pm Sunday at Ott & Lee Funeral Home. Funeral services were held 2:30pm Sunday, June 26, 2011 from Clifton Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Doyle Boyles, Rev. Paul Smith and Rev. Andy Boles officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Joey was born May 31, 1989 in Jackson, MS. He loved listening to music and playing Nintendo. He loved to be outdoors riding four wheelers and dirt bikes. Joey was known for his kind heart and his unselfish giving to others. He loved playing with his nieces and nephews. Joey will always be remembered for his beautiful smile and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is survived by his parents, James and Peggy Ann Henry Reeves of Morton; sisters, Autumn Methvin of Morton and Stephanie Smith (Jake) of Ruth, MS; brothers, Jared Reeves of Houma, LA and Nathaniel Reeves (Jennifer) of Brookhaven; grandparents, Minnie Warren of Pulaski and John and Dorothy Reeves of Forkville; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Robbie Wallace, Travis Thrash, Josh Merchant, Michael Reeves, Spencer Karges and Kyle Hatch. Honorary pallbearers were Josh Blackburn and Shane Shelby.
Memorials may be made in honor of Joey to New Liberty Baptist Church.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
