Joshua Thompson Evans, age 35, a resident of Forest passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from an automobile accident in Morton. Visitation was held 5-9pm Monday, July 31, 2017 at Pulaski Baptist Church. Services were held 1pm Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Pulaski Baptist Church with burial in Sardis Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Mickey Walls and Bro. Brian Gomez officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Joshua was born in Flowood, MS on May 13, 1982. He loved cheering for Ole Miss football team. Joshua was an avid outdoorsman, he loved deer hunting, loved to swim in creeks and ride 4 wheelers. His family stated that Joshua loved to cook but would make a big mess and destroy the kitchen. Joshua loved his family very much and was so excited about his son, Eli starting kindergarden this school year. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, P.B. Thompson; grandmother, Erma Evans and special aunt, Jan Thompson Tadlock.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Lynn Evans of Forest; son, Eli James Evans of Forest; parents, Joy & Max Evans, Jr. of Forest; sister, Jessica Cockroft of Forest; grandmother, Vera Thompson of Forest; paternal grandfather, Max Evans, Sr. of Vicksburg; 2 nieces, Presly Cockroft and Maysen Cockroft; mother-in-law, Gail Langford of Richland; several aunt, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Lucas Odom, T.J. Squires, Louis Daughtry, Matt Player,B.J. McCreary, JoJo Snow and Chad Gordy.
