Joyce Nell Amacker Talley, 85, a longtime resident of Brandon, MS passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. There will be a private service at a later time. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mrs. Talley was a native of Poplarville, MS and the daughter of Argil Asa Amacker and May Maxine Peters Amacker. She was married 54 years to Merle R. Talley, Sr. She was very dedicated to her family and loved being with them. She enjoyed art, painting, poetry and writing poems. She was a very strong lady in her faith and even through sickness never lost her ability to pray and quote the scriptures from the book she loved the bible. She instilled in her family the need to have God in their life. Mrs. Talley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was lovingly known as “Grandma” by her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. Talley was preceded in death by her parents, Argil Asa Amacker and May Maxine Peters Amacker and her husband, Merle R. Talley, Sr.
Mrs. Talley is survived by her children, Merle R. Talley, Jr., Lana Talley (Dwight) Bailey, Kevin D. Talley and Randa Talley; 1 sister; 2 brothers; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
