Joyce Ziegler

Joyce Brinkley Ziegler, 81, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019. Funeral services will be held 3 pm Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Fannin Baptist Church with interment in Fannin Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, May 3, 2019 at the Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and from 2-3 pm Saturday at the church.

Ms. Ziegler was born on April 10, 1938 in Conroe, Texas to Cecil Brinkley and Edith E. Linscomb Brinkley Goss. She worked many years as a Librarian in several places and retired from Mississippi College School of Law Library. She was a member of Fannin Baptist Church in Fannin, MS. She was very involved in mission’s work serving the Budapest Mission training people to use the library and the Kenya Mission setting up a library system. She was very active as a Sunday school teacher and enjoyed teaching the GA’s youth and teens. She also served as the WMU director. Ms. Ziegler loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Ms. Ziegler was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Brinkley and Edith E. Linscomb Brinkley and her second husband, Todd Goss; sisters, Betty Brinkley (Willis) Roy, Martha Ann Brinkley (Don) Lee and Violet (Earl) Coble.

Ms. Ziegler is survived by her children, Kimberly Ziegler (Stanley) Robertson Mitchell (Rhonda) Ziegler and Tres Ziegler (Brent) Townsend; five grandchildren, Suzanne (Brandon) Vickers, Katherine Robertson, Bradley Robertson, Stephen Robertson and Megan Ziegler; brother, Shirley Ross (Shirley) Goss; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
