Joyce Vann Robinson, formerly of Huntsville, AL, passed away August 27, 2016, at the age of 83. Graveside services will be 1:30 pm Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, AL.
Mrs. Robinson, born Christmas Day 1932, was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother whose selfless Christian spirit reached beyond the realm of life. She grew up on Hobbs Island Road and received her Bachelors Degree from the University of North Alabama in Elementary Education. Joyce began her teaching career in Bessemer, AL, followed by additional teaching positions in Meridian, Heidelberg, Rolling Fork and Vicksburg, MS. Joyce was always willing to take additional time with students and would assist parents in going the extra mile to meet their child’s individual needs. She will always be remembered for her willingness to donate her time and talents for worthy causes. After retiring from teaching, she was a humble servant who continued to teach, mentor and serve others.
Survivors include her daughter, Jill Tullar (Mark) of Brandon, MS and son, Joel Robinson (Christi) of Huntsville, AL; four grandchildren, Clint Tullar of Houston, TX and Cate Tullar of Ridgeland, MS; Maggie Robinson of Starkville, MS; and Nate Robinson of Huntsville, AL; brother-in-law, Thomas Robinson of Birmingham, AL; sister-in-law, Mary Nell Key of Panama City Beach, FL and a number of nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Charles P. Robinson, Jr. of Jasper, AL; brothers, Wheeler Vann and Nalls Vann; sisters, Faye Ferguson and Sally Vann.
