Juanita Juaniece Douglas Crawford

A visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 2:00pm Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.  There will be a committal service following at 3:00pm Saturday in the Mausoleum at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS.

She was born in Tallahatchie County Mississippi and raised there and in Coahoma County. She was the second of four children born to Thurman and Ollie Etoile Douglas. She graduated from high school and married Benjamin Allen Crawford, Jr. on September 9, 1952. She and Ben had three children, Benjamin Allen Crawford, III, Francis Sterling Crawford, and Paula Anne Crawford Williams. Her first job was working at Powers in Clarksdale. From there she worked in different positions using her bookkeeping and payroll knowledge with doctors and later in a steel industry company. She was active in Oakhurst Baptist Church in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and later in Parkway Baptist Church in Clinton, Mississippi. She was an accomplished seamstress, and a favorite pastime was cross-stitching.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, her oldest son, Bennie, her mother, Etoile, and her sister Kathryn Trimble.

She is survived by her son Frank Crawford, Jackson, and her daughter Paula Williams, Blytheville, Arkansas, her brother Ursal Douglas, Texas, and her sister, Jane Adcock, Illinois. She leaves her grandchildren, Jeremy Benjamin Crawford, Christian Crawford (Aimee), Hannah Crawford, Katie Bonham (Neil), Micah Nelson (Andrew), Matt Williams (Kassie), and Mallory Williams. She also leaves nine great grandchildren, Caleb Crawford, Emma Rose Crawford, Townes Crawford, and Anna Camille Crawford, Asher Bonham, Benjamin Nelson, Alister Nelson, Isabelle Nelson, and Ivory Mitchell.
