Juanita Mitchell, Brandon, MS
Juanita Mitchell, 84, passed away peacefully at the Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. She was the oldest of six children born to John and Mae Jones of McAdams, MS. She was married to George Mitchell for sixty-four years. She was a true Christian lady who loved the Lord first of all, and then had unending love for her dear family. She served the Lord in her church in any way she could. She will be missed greatly by her church, family and friends. We want to thank everyone for all that has been done for our family during this trying time.
Mrs. Mitchell worked at J.C. Penny for thirty years after spending the first twenty years at home raising her family.
She is survived by her husband, George Mitchell; four children, George Mitchell Jr. and wife Dorothy, Anne Bowlin and husband Ed, Terry Mitchell and wife LyVonne, and Donnie Mitchell and wife Lisa; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom she dearly loved. She is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Byrd and husband Jerry, Sandra Jones Schuler and one brother, James Jones.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 19, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS from 5pm.-8pm. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Brandon, MS at 11am., with Rev. Steve Wilson officiating the services. Burial will follow the funeral services at Lakewood Memorial Park South in Jackson, MS.
