Juanita Chapman Murry passed away peacefully with her daughter at her side, at 102 years of age, on September 28, 2021, at Edgewater Nursing Home in Mt. Dora, Florida. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, October 8, 2021, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with interment at Johns Cemetery in Johns, MS. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Juanita was born in Johns, MS on October 26, 1918, to Joe and Mary Ella Everitt Chapman. She went to Johns school and was a member of the Methodist church. She moved from Johns to Memphis and was married to Otha P. Murry. She retired from Advertising Checking Bureau and later moved to Florida. Juanita was a loving mother and a wonderful cook and seamstress. She made many of her clothes as well as clothes for her children. She loved cats, plants and flowers, making quilts, and gospel music.
She is survived by daughters, Shirley Rock of Mt Dora, FL and Betty Murry in Texas, grandsons, John Paul Caldwell of West Palm Beach, FL and Bryan Murry of Houston, TX, great grandson, Noah Caldwell of West Palm Beach, Fl, and niece, Mary Beth Logan of Madison, MS.
